Pie In The Sky
I'm extremely hungary, but there is no food in the house and my back hurts to much to go out and get some. Consequently I am currently mentally perculiar but I am enjoying the view as I overlook the metaphorical verge of remedial splendour.
I have started to think that for virtue of this suffering I will be rewarded in the after life. My train of thought (led mostly by hunger) takes me to the Salvation Army hymm 'In The Sweet Bye and Bye' with the emphasis on the line "you'll get pie in the sky when you die."
If all the sky was apple pie,
And all the sea was custard...
I'm still thinking about the rest.
This must be where the phrase pie in the sky comes from.
Oh I just really love apple pie and custard.
