Inertia

I really fancied a night off the internet yesterday so I made a few phone calls to find out where I could find some action. It seemed like not much of interest was going on until I found out there was a decent Omaha game at the Vic. The problem was that as much as I wanted to play in the game (and believe me I was itching for a game) I just couldn't find the motivation to drive into the centre of town. I wanted to be there but didn't want to have to get there (or drive back in the early hours). I've kind of generated a central London phobia as a result of not having been there for so long.

I had to leave the house though. I had just been staring at the same 4 walls for seemingly days on end. I decided that the best course of action was just to get in the car and drive. I really had no idea where I was going, but had the vague notion that if I stumbled on an Indian restuarant I would go and eat, where as if I passed an internet cafe I would go and play. As much as I didn't fancy the net, the internet and a different 4 walls had more appeal than a live game requiring a drive to London.

To cheer myself up I bought a frozen apple pie and a tub of ice cream from Sainsbury's this morning though. One of life's great pleasures.
