National Take A Plant To Work Day Gathers Pace

That right folks, the inaugural National Take a Plant to Work Day (or the Vic or Luton - simply replace the word work as you feel appropriate) is fast approaching. June the 1st is the date and I for one will be setting my alarm so as to get down the garden centre before it closes.

I am expecting casinos across the land to be a sea of shrubbery and I have heard people mention that the Vic is likely to eclipse the Royal Horticultural Society, who will be providing a similar display in Chelsea the week before.

Get your plants in and support the environment. United we are stronger in our quest to breath more natural oxygen. Global warming is upon us and it has started to effect the poker schedule. To any non believers I have the proof and I will publish it here later in the week. Until then…

Breath free and easy,
Matthew

More of a winter game really

I played a little this week. The 3/6 PLO on Stars and the 2/4 PLO on Blue Square yielded a reasonable hourly rate. However I must confess that in such fine weather the golf course is a difficult place to resist.

It seems a shame to waste such a fine afternoon. Here I am pottering about on stars, whilst I update this blog for you listeners, and all the while I’m itching for an excuse to turn the PC off and head out on to the fairways of some of the worst golf courses Surrey has to offer. Unfortunately the glorious heathland delights of Wentworth, Walton Heath, West Hill, Woking and St Georges will have to wait before they experience my irons cutting there pristine fairways.

It’s more of a winter game really poker isn’t it when you think about it. I definitely consider this to be the end of the season. Who wants to be cooped up in some oxygen pumped card room or in their dining room on the net, when there’s a real world to enjoy, and an atmosphere with 21% oxygen! Now I understand that there may be valid reasons as to why poker is played inside and should not be played outdoors, but to be honest I think the Victoria Sporting Club should get some plants dotted about the place. I much prefer my oxygen to come from these more natural sources.

I was thinking that maybe the 1st of June should become “National Take A Plant To Work Day.” I have searched the net and I don’t think such a day already exists so I will be launching the campaign soon.

Anyway as chance would have my phone is ringing, and it looks like I’m playing golf so I shall end rudely and abruptly right now.

Go on fuck off all of you I’m off to the golf course.

PS. Remember to take a plant to the vic on June 1st.
